Our Story

Little Eco Folk:

Little Eco Folk is not your normal brand. We bring together a selection of sustainable, ethically sourced products to deliver a conscientious collection of eco-friendly, natural and non toxic products for you and your little folk.

The current model of consumption in the modern world is unsustainable. Little Eco Folk want to help you make a difference by offering items which are well designed, ethically made and durable, reducing the need for disposable products, so that you can achieve more with less. Products designed to be passed down from one generation to the next.

We believe we all have a responsibility to live our lives as sustainably as possible. We bring sustainability into every corner of our business, from the materials we use, to the way we package our items, to the way we want our business to grow.

Sustainability is at the wairua of what we do.

Little Eco Dyer:

I also hand dye a selection of natural fabrics. Every step is slow-crafted by hand in my studio, using locally foraged plant dyes from flowers, roots, foliage, nuts, food waste, and wood.

This ancient, slow craft creates a stunning depth of natural colour unachievable with synthetic chemicals. It focuses on a more measured way of creating and respecting the environment. I know and care about the origin of our materials and have a desire to use ethical suppliers. Finding harmony creating at a slower pace with each piece of fabric infused with Aroha.

I reuse fabric where we can and because our dye is produced seasonally from local foliage we are able to dye waste free.

Partnership:

Little Eco Folk have teamed up with Nature School NZ Trust. When you buy a product with this symbol next to it we donate $1.

We might only be a small business, but with your help we can make a big difference. Your $1 goes towards the planting of native trees here in your own back yard of New Zealand by our next generation of Tamariki. Educating our little eco folk through hands on experiences teaches them the importance of kaitiakitanga for our native environment. Together we can help make our world just a little greener and healthier for our Tamariki.
