Care Information

Botanically Dyed Items:

Botanically dyeing is a complex and time consuming slow ancient craft, taking advantage of nature locally. Before the fabrics can be dyed they must be washed, submerged in a mordant bath, then added to a dye bath. Natural dyes should be treated as a living colour and can shift over time, depending on water pH levels, sunlight and general wear. This change should be celebrated.

Washing: We recommend pH neutral washing powder / liquid on a cool cycle, however hand washing will prolong the life and colour of your item. Don't use stain remover or heavy-duty detergents.

Drying: Dry in the shade and out of direct sunlight, or indoors away from heat sources.

Wooden Plates:

Hand washing is highly recommended to prolong the life of wooden items, a quick wipe clean with a damp cloth and your normal washing-up liquid is all that is needed.

Allow to air dry or better yet, towel dry as this will remove moisture quicker from the surface.
